As part of LBBW’s new capital markets strategy and its focus on international market activities, we are continuing to expand our business in structured products and securitizations. With this growth, credit risk management is becoming increasingly important. To effectively address these risks, LBBW has created a new “Risk Management” division. This division serves as the operational hub for credit market risk managementacross the entire capital markets business.

 

 

Within this division, we are establishing the new “Risk Management Credit Markets” unit. It will assess, monitor, and manage the combined risks arising from secured financing, portfolio financing, and securitizations within the framework of LBBW’s risk-bearing capacity and risk appetite.

Play an active role in shaping the development of a newly created risk unit and play a decisive role in further developing the risk management approach for LBBW’s realigned capital markets business.

 

 

Your Responsibilities:

 

  • You will be responsible for establishing and continuously leading the new “Risk Management Credit Markets” unit. In doing so, you will set priorities, assign responsibilities, and build a high-performing team.
  • You will be responsible for the unit’s risk governance framework and will oversee the identification, assessment, monitoring, and management of credit risks arising from secured financing, portfolio financing, and securitizations within the framework of LBBW’s risk appetite.
  • You will ensure that all relevant regulatory requirements and internal guidelines for the portfolio are implemented.
  • You will oversee the identification of emerging credit risks, further develop risk management tools, and anticipate market developments to enable timely control measures.
  • You design and promote forward-looking frameworks for risk identification and assessment. In doing so, you use data and analyses to improve the timeliness and quality of risk decisions.
  • You bear end-to-end responsibility for risk monitoring in the areas of secured financing, portfolio financing, and securitizations. You critically evaluate risk assessments and ensure that key risk indicators remain within LBBW’s risk appetite.
  • You will initiate appropriate risk mitigation measures and escalate limit breaches, concentrations, and significant developments through the designated governance bodies and channels.
  • You will serve as the central senior risk contact for the relevant trading units and other stakeholders. In doing so, you set clear expectations and constructively challenge business decisions.
  • You initiate risk-related governance decisions, communicate clear recommendations and significant risk developments to senior management and the relevant committees, and drive the timely resolution of escalated issues.
 

 

Your Profile:

 

  • A college degree or equivalent qualifications
  • Several years of leadership experience in risk management and proven leadership aptitude (Potential assessment process (PEP) 3)
  • Experience with change management processes: You are capable of establishing a new unit, strategically aligning it, and developing a high-performing team.
  • A keen sense of market changes and their impact on the credit portfolio under your responsibility
  • You have in-depth knowledge of credit risk management for secured financing, portfolio financing, and securitizations, and are able to identify,assess, monitor, and manage risks throughout the entire process.
  • You have extensive experience in designing and implementing effective risk governance frameworks, as well as in applying relevant regulatoryrequirements and internal policies.
  • You think proactively, recognize emerging credit risks early on, and use data, analyses, and appropriate risk management tools to enable well-informed and timely risk decisions.
  • You are able to critically evaluate complex risk assessments, manage key risk indicators within the defined risk appetite, and initiate appropriate risk mitigation measures.
  • You have a strong understanding of portfolio and concentration risks and can report relevant developments, limit breaches, or escalation cases to the appropriate governance channels in a manner tailored to the audience.
  • You confidently act as an independent risk partner when interacting with trading units, functional departments, and other stakeholders, articulating clear expectations and constructively challenging business decisions.
  • You communicate complex risk issues precisely, clearly, and in a decision-oriented manner to senior management and relevant committees, and consistently drive the timely resolution of critical issues.
